Preparations are underway for the next Fashion Access to be held from 27 – 29 September at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The fair is considered a must-visit, onestop sourcing platform for high-quality and trendy “head-to-toe” fashions that include bags, footwear, small leathergoods, travelware and fashion accessories such as hats, gloves, eyewear and scarves. The September edition will feature the Spring-Summer 2013 collections of 400 plus exhibitors from some 33 countries. Recently, APLF Limited, organisers of Fashion Access, announced that Cashmere World, a vertically integrated business platform for the international cashmere trade, would collocate with Fashion Access starting this September.
Cashmere World started in 2010 and has since become the annual meeting place for cashmere producers and buyers, a catalyst for innovations in cashmere production technology, and an important venue for the promotion of the unique qualities that make cashmere one of the world’s best-loved luxury materials. Cashmere World’s organisers, UBM Asia and CFNA, explained that moving the fair from its original venue in Beijing to Fashion Access in Hong Kong will create a synergy that will benefit exhibitors and buyers of both fairs. Cashmere garments such as sweaters, shawls, suits and dresses fit hand in glove with the thousands of boutique, department store, wholesalers, agents and distributors passing through Fashion Access in search of the products that will fill their shelves for the coming season.
The vice president of CFNA (China Chamber of Commerce of Import & Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce and Animal By-Products) Mr. Yang Shengjun declared: “It is a milestone for Cashmere World. Hong Kong is the ideal international trading centre and Fashion Access is the perfect event to host this new and re-invigorated Cashmere World.”
Alessandra Cocchi, managing director of Eastmax Fashion Ltd. based in Hong Kong, has good words to say about the move: “Moving the fair to Hong Kong, to run alongside Fashion Access, is a logical evolution that will benefit the whole cashmere industry.”
APLF Limited also announced that Fashion Access and Cashmere World will have adjusted opening hours for the September edition. The fair opens on September 27 at 12 noon and runs till 7 in the evening. The second day’s hours will be from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm while the final day on September 29 runs from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
