Highlight: Salonshow presents the collections of selected GREENshowroom designers
New Pop-up Shop for sustainable fashion at the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin
Parallel to the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin for the sixth time running, the GREENshowroom presents a selection of high-end fashion and lifestyle labels that produce their collections in accordance with sustainable principles. 24 exclusive labels – many of them new – are showing their collections for the spring and summer of 2013 in the luxurious suites of Berlin’s five-star Hotel Adlon Kempinski. In addition to exclusive design, their products are distinguished by ecologically correct production, social and fair working conditions, the use of recycled materials or support for traditional manufacturing methods.
Olaf Schmidt, Vice President, Textiles & Technologies, Messe Frankfurt, is delighted with the positive auguries at the beginning of the fair: “We are very pleased that the demand for space at the GREENshowroom has once again been very high and that, in addition to our long-standing exhibitors, we are able to announce many new national and international labels.” The organisers are particularly thrilled to welcome the following new labels: Anne Gorke, Cocccon, Edelziege, Malli, Muriée (Germany), Elvis & Kresse and SeeMe (The Netherlands), Flaviaanranha and Luiza Perea (Brazil), Genaro Rivas (Peru), Halasi (Hungary), My biotiful bag (USA) and Sarah Reinhard (Switzerland).
Surprise guest from the USA
Following the presentation by Stewart+Brown from California at the last GREENshowroom, this season’s surprise guest is the ‘My Biotiful Bag’ accessory label from the USA. Popular among celebrities, such as Carmen Electra, Stephanie Pratt, Kim Kardashian and Denise Richards, the company’s bags are made of organic and recycled materials. The sustainable and careful production process makes each bag unique, functional and stylish. Additionally, many renowned labels are represented at the GREENshowroom again, e.g., Atelier Laure Paschoud, deepmello (formerly: the Rooters), Ika Babel and Kaschuba Hommage, Leibschneider, Royalblush, Schmidttakahashi, Studio Ecocentric.
Exclusive Salonshow on 5 July
A special highlight will be the exclusive Salonshow for invited guests who will be able to see selected parts of the collections of fashion and lifestyle labels on the catwalk in the hotel’s salon at 15.30 hrs on 5 July 2012. Compère and actress Birte Glang will host the fashion show.
“We are particularly looking forward to the outfits by Brazil’s Genaro Rivas, who is making his first presentation at the GREENshowroom. His high-fashion line includes colourful patterns and he has just been voted the Newcomer of the Season at the Oslo Fashion Week. Additionally, we are expecting to welcome numerous celebrity visitors”, says Magdalena Schaffrin who founded the show together with Jana Keller. The latter adds: “This time, we are also showing selected parts of the collections of the exhibitors of the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin at the Salonshow, including parts of the Luxaa collection.”
